We all want to be beautiful. Here is a simple truth, if you are healthy you are
or can be beautiful. An important part of being healthy (beautiful) is having good
hair.
Here are some facts about hair. Hair on the scalp acts as a protection to the head.
Eyebrows, eyelashes, moustache, beard, and nostril hair filters out the harmful
particles floating in the air. Hair in the armpits reduces friction between opposing
skin surfaces during arm movement. Hair on the body conserves body heat and protects
from cold. In humans however hair seems to have a decorative purpose only and too
much or too less hair can pose a problem for some people.

Here are some reasons for excessive loss of hair
1) Hormone changes in the body such as during pregnancy.
2) Consuming drugs such as some antibiotics.
3) Illness often accompanied with fever.
4) Situations that cause excessive long term emotional stress.
5) Excessive dieting.
6) Chronic Anemia.
7) Baldness which is usually an inherited condition.
Remember that some kinds of hair loss happen as a side effect of a certain condition
(such as an illness) and when that condition is reversed, hair loss automatically
stops. Other types of hair loss require medication and treatment.
Whatever the reason for hair loss, always continue to wash and comb your hair properly
and regularly.
Some type of hair oils and shampoos are said to help in treating baldness but their
effectiveness must be thoroughly investigated before use.
Some people suffer from weak hair shaft and splitting of hairs. Such conditions
require treatment with drugs.
Hirsutism is a condition when excessive hair is present on the body. Such a condition
is usually treated with threading, waxing or electrolysis.
Some people suffer from grey hair (or change in hair color usually due to increased
age). The best method to treat this condition is to use a good hair dye. There are
plenty of hair dye products available in the market.
Many people suffer from dandruff in the hair. The skin is continuously falling off
and being replaced. But when this process occurs in the hairy areas, the hair tends
to cling on to the falling dead skin. Further the hairy areas of the body (scalp)
are washed less often adding to the accumulation of dead skin cells on the skin
surface. These factors cause dandruff which by itself is not a disease but if large
amounts of dandruff are present over long periods of time then a condition called
seborrhoeic dermatitis can develop. This condition can spread all over the body
if not treated.
The best treatment for dandruff is to keep your hair and scalp clean. Have regular
hair wash with a good shampoo. Massage the scalp well with the shampoo.
